Decisions, Decisions 5

It’s not Black Friday here in my corner of Ontario, it’s more of a wet grey Friday. (I had no idea what Black Friday was until about four days ago, how’s that for living in a cave?)

Anyway, if you have a minute, drop on over to the Samhain Cafe between noon and midnight today. There’s a Black Friday party going on – excerpts and contests. Every two hours a free ebook will be awarded to a random poster.

In the meantime as I sit listening to Christmas music to get myself into the season, I’m frantically trying to decide what part of Private Property to post as an excerpt. (Is this one giving away too much? Is that one too long/short? Arrrgh) All the while trying to learn how to use WordPress for a new blog I’m joining. At least the edits on … oh, yeah, can’t tell you what I’ve been working on. Anyway, my edits are done and submitted and off my desk. For the time being.

Can you take a page out of my book and post something extra pertaining to the characters, but that has nothing to do with the story in the novel?

You really didn’t know what Black Friday is??? Wow. I’m envious.

Susan: I will do that once the book is out, but for now, considering you have to wait just under two months (Woot, it’s getting closer) it wouldn’t mean as much to people who hadn’t read the story.

And yeah, I’d never heard of Black Friday before. I had heard of Black Tuesday which was the stock market crash of 1929, so I figured that the latest meltdown on Wall Street had happened on a Friday and received that tag. I had no idea it referred to the biggest shopping day in the US.

Go with what feels right, Leah. Readers will eat it up any way you serve it!

And congrats on the secret-project edits! WTG!

    LOL on Black Friday!
Excerpt choosing IS hard. You don’t want to give away to much, but you want to find an interesting bit that can stand alone…
    Good luck 🙂
