Werewolf or vampire? 15

I went out last night to a brand new romance reader’s group a friend of mine is putting together. Eight women, all romance readers — who love their books hot hot hot — sitting in a restaurant that had a $4 drink special. So as you can imagine the talk got a little raunchy at times. (Really, I swear guys would not believe some of the stuff we discuss. We’d put their locker room conversations to shame, I’m sure.) At one point, my friend Nikki (yes, I named my character in Texas Tangle after her) posed a question for each of us (we even involved our long-suffering waitress):

Which would you “do”, a werewolf or a vampire?

My answer? No contest — werewolf, especially if it’s Adam from Patricia Brigg’s Mercy Thompson series, or Charles from her Alpha and Omega series (and he occasionally has a cameo in the Mercy Thompson series as well.) I do not like vampires, I told them. Except, I hesitated, I would do Rhage from JR Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood series, and his own book Lover Eternal.

Since it’s too hot to do anything else but kick back and fantasize, I figured this would be the perfect question for a lazy, hazy Friday. Think about all the books you’ve read or movies you’d watched that feature werewolves or vampires and tell me, who would you choose? A werewolf? Or a vampire?

It would depend on the weather. It’s toooo hot to do a werewolf now. All that extra body heat; thanks but no thanks. I’ll take the vamp in the summer to keep me cool and the werewolf in the winter to keep me warm.

You can have a werewolf in the daytime and a vampire at night, so no need to choose. *wink*

You and Clare are using your noggins — I hadn’t considered either of those reasons. But … no, I’m still not a vamp-lover. I’ll take fur over fangs every time.

Got to be a snuggly werewolf . . . . even though the vets bills might be a bit prohibitive 😀

The werewolves I’ve always read about have superfast healing powers, no vets needed. Or the vets that they do use tend to be part of their pack…

Werewolf. Dead things are not for sexin’, even if they walk and talk. I could cyber with a vampire, but I just can’t imagine TOUCHING one in those circumstances.

That’s how I feel about vampires too. I mean, eew. Other than the Black Dagger Brotherhood vamps because they’re not dead, they’re just…different. And maybe a couple of Lynsay Sand’s Argeneau vamps. But yeah, I’ll take werewolf over vamps otherwise.

See, for me it was Sam in True Blood (from the books, not the show — I can’t get into the show)
