Although Seamus figured how to go upstairs shortly after we got him, he still has to figure out how to go downstairs. We’ve tried putting his favorite dried liver treats on each stair, and placing his front feet on the stair and trying to show him how to put his back legs on it too. No joy. I mentioned it when I was out to lunch with my friend Anara Bella the other day, and she mentioned seeing a video about someone trying to teach a mini pig to go downstairs. When I got home I looked it up and it was just too good not to share. (watch it to the very end for the “surprise” ending.)

I love the little sounds he makes — and I must confess that sometimes Seamus makes very similar noises. I think the next “step” may be bringing in a friend with a dog who can show Seamus how to conquer his fear.

LOL!!! Very cute. … we had a period of building with the new house before the doors went on when the goats and chickens would get stuck upstairs.!!! My horses will go downstairs, but a lot of them won’t. I’m thinking it may be because of how rough our pasture is, we actually have ‘steps’ of limestone ledges if you remember.
