Since you’re following this blog, you probably already read romances, so how about sharing your favorite romance, new or old, or favorite romance author, with the rest of us?
For me? I know I’m going to forget a lot of my favorite authors, and favorite books, but here’s a starter list:
My go-to auto-buy author for a contemporary feel-good romance is Jill Shalvis. I love her Lucky Harbor series, especially Head Over Heels, book 3 in the series. Another all-time favorite is Instant Attraction, book 1 in her Wilder series.
Crave cowboys? Then you definitely should be reading Lorelei James — either her Roughrider series that follows the McKay family–start with Long Hard Ride, or her Black Top Cowboy series. Start with Corralled, though my favorite book of the series (so far) is One Night Rodeo.
Like your romance with a bite? Get drawn into the shadowy vampiric world of JR Ward‘s Black Dagger Brotherhood — start with book 1 – Dark Lover. Or if you prefer the lighter side of vampires, head straight for Lynsay Sand‘s Argeneau series. (This gets a little complicated because they were originally released out of order.) Ignore the release dates, and start with A Quick Bite. (The reading order list of the rest can be found if you click the Argeneau link above. And if you like historicals, I love Lynsay’s historicals too.)
How about historicals? Oh, where to start here… If you like romances that take a modern theme and put a historical twist to it, try Vicky Dreiling’s How to Marry a Duke. Tired of Regencies? Try Jo Beverly‘s Malloren series — starting with My Lady Notorious. We’re talking a time when men wore the high heels and red and pink striped silk stockings. And Cyn, OMG even wearing that get-up he’s still hot!
Now it’s your turn … share your favorite romances, new or old. And GO!
