Talking (Tomorrow) and Tweeting (on Friday)

On Friday — yes, that’s Valentine’s Day — I’m going to be helping CBC Books and @HarlequinBooks have some fun on Twitter as they sponsor a snarky anti-Valentine’s Day Tweet contest. They won’t be telling people what you have to tweet until Friday morning (unless you sign up for their newsletter–subscribers get a heads-up the day before). But they’re going to be looking for fun snarky tweets on their topic, and there will be prizes of books, and a grand prize of a $100 Wayspa gift certificate.

I’ll be one of the authors monitoring the tweet stream and choosing my favorite tweets to forward to the final judge. So if you’re on Twitter, come play along.

PS: Oh, and you don’t have to be a Canadian resident to win the books. But to win the $100 spa grand prize, you will have to be a Canadian resident.

PPS: For those of you who don’t know, CBC stands for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. They’re a big deal up here. Think BBC, only Canadian.

PPPS: My mother is really excited to be able to tell her friends that her daughter is going to be featured on the CBC’s Canada Writes program on Friday. It’s the little things that count, right?

Oh, and don’t forget, if you’re in the Oshawa/Durham region, I’m going to be speaking at the Northview Public Library tomorrow (February 12th) as part of the “Fall in Love with Romance” program, along with Maureen McGowan, Mary Sullivan, Ann Lethbridge and other Toronto Romance Writers, followed by editors from Harlequin. Our part starts at 10 a.m. so stop on by if you’re in the area.
