I should have posted goals for this week but I haven’t. Can’t even begin to think of doing anything but getting through the week.

Keeping me busy #1: my erotica novella. I sent off 90% of my ms. to my critique partners for them to tear apart. I’ve got two scenes left to write, but that shouldn’t (hopefully) take much longer. It’s currently over 25K (so much for keeping it under 15k but I might still have to tear scenes down, or possibly add scenes so who knows what’ll happen – it’s up to my CP) Hopefully it’ll be hot enough for EC or wherever I end up sending it. Will be too long for Harlequin’s Spice Shorts though. And I hope all the sex scenes work – I find them the hardest to write.

Keeping me busy #2: the Erotica Course I’m in. Luckily it’s only for this week, but so far I’ve gotten terrific information from it. And the teacher – Janet Miller aka Cricket Starr – has been gracious enough to answer my questions about my own WIP in length.

Keeping me busy #3: the Pitch course I’m in. Well, actually not much has happened here yet. But there’s also a pitch course going on at the same time through the Hearts Thru History group I belong to, and there’s daily homework there. I have to come up with a 25 word pitch and post it before this evening. They’re frickin’ tough. (If anyone else is in HHRW, and wants to learn about pitches, make sure you join the JRs Bootcamp group – it’s free but only open to HHRW members. The instructor this week – Laurie Schnebly – is fantastic!)

Keeping me busy #4: My paranormal historical that is being brainstormed over on the Toronto Critters page, although only a couple people have offered suggestions 🙁 I’m meeting with Jordanne later this week in order to go to a new age shop and ask about Auras. And we’re stopping for either coffee or an ice cream (depending on whether it’s hot or cold – can anyone figure out this weather? A/C on during the weekend, and snow in the Muskokas last night.)

Keeping me busy #5: my kids – Mum drive me here, Mum I need to go there … Mum’s taxi service has been putting on the miles this week. Which means I’m getting interrupted and that’s why it’s taking me longer to finish those last couple chapters. At least that’s the excuse I’m using today.

Happy dance time!

Posted my 23 word pitch and just got an offlist comment from someone who said:

“This is GORGEOUS! I can’t imagine anyone hearing this and not asking for more.”

Phew! Now on to the next lesson.

I know I’m in both the same classes and am so swamped!!!! I joined the Critters but haven’t made myself known yet cause of the EDJ, I have to get in there and introduce myself. Relax and take it easy, I know I should take my own advice, well I kind of am, Gwen Stefani tomorrow! Woohoo.

You know, I was thinking of you and Gwen when I was writing – actually had my heroine turn off the radio that was blasting Gwen Stefani across the lake.

You are busier than I am! Crazy girl. 🙂 I hope all your courses go really well and your WIP turns out the way you want it. The nice thing about EC is it really doesn’t matter the word length, they have a line for everything.
