Today’s guest blogger is Margay Leah Justice. Margay Leah’s book, Nora’s Soul, is sold through Second Wind Publishing.

Tell me, Margay, if you could meet three famous people (or authors) from the past that influenced you as an author, who would they be and what would you always love to ask them?

I would love to meet Jane Austen, Louisa May Alcott and Margaret Mitchell, and I would like to ask them what writing was like for them, as women, in their lifetimes. I would like to know how they overcame their challenges to seek publication.

Leah: Ooh, that would be interesting to know (didn’t Jane have to be published under a man’s name at first? Or am I thinking of someone else?)

Do you have a favorite book (someone else has written) that you keep as a ‘comfort read’?

I have authors who provide comfort reads for me, not any particular book, at this point. Those authors are Julia Quinn, Luanne Rice and Lisa Kelypas, among others.

Leah: Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton series is on my keeper shelf too.

Do you “cast” your characters using pictures or actors to help inspire you when you’re writing?

I do cast my characters! This is my little cheat-sheet to keep a good visual on my characters as I write.

What is something unusual that you do or have done that people normally don’t know or would be surprised to know about you?

Back in my younger days, I taught aerobics.

Do you have an all-time favorite romantic movie?

The Keira Knightley version of Pride and Prejudice

When you’re not writing, what do you like to do just to kick back and relax? I love to knit!

I love creating things from nothing and looking back and saying, “Wow, I can’t believe I made that.”

And finally, just for fun, if you could be a superhero what would your powers be?

Mind-reading! I’d love to know what people are really thinking.

Oh oh. I think I’m in trouble then. Of course, that’s nothing new.

Thanks, Margay … if you want to know more about Margay, or about her book, Nora’s Soul, you can go here:
