I’m heading out to Lori Foster’s Reader and Author Get Together tomorrow, so today is a flurry of activity trying to pull together all those last minute details. I’ve done all the girly-girl things that I haven’t done in *cough*decades*cough* since I used to teach and had to get dressed in something other than comfy clothes every day. Including getting a mani-pedi — I am now having to relearn how to type with “nails”. (So excuse any typos.)
I’m driving down to Cincinnati with Anara Bella, and we’ll be babying a basket we’ve put together for the raffle
It is a Canadian-themed basket: in addition to a free download of one of Anara’s backlist, and an autographed copy of my novel Personal Protection, there are a half dozen chocolate bars not available to people in the States (Crispy Crunch, a mint Aero bar, a regular Aero bar, a Coffee Crisp, a Cherry Blossom (chocolate covered cherry), and a package of Smarties (candy coated chocolate similar to M&Ms — Okay, Canadians, how many of you can sing the “When you eat your Smarties do you eat your red ones last” song?) There’s a maple-leaf tea towel, maple sugar candy, maple syrup and a dip spreader all sitting on top of a red china serving platter that matches a chilling dip server with a stuffed polar bear nestled inside.
I’m bringing extra chocolate, along with some other swag to share with those who stop by and say hi. So don’t be shy. I’ll probably be wearing a white cowboy hat. If I remember to pack it. (adding that to my list too…) 😉
For those of you unable to meet me in person, I’m not taking my laptop, only my iPad, and I’ve never tried blogging from it before…I’ve set up a blog post for Saturday’s Snippet feature, and I’ll be guest blogging over at Samhain’s main site on Saturday too. (which is still on my to-do list–yikes!) Which is all a long winded way of saying, I’m not sure if I’ll be around online on the blog or not so I’ll probably be posting lots of pictures and stories next week…. The hotel has Wi-Fi so I should be around on Twitter and Facebook though so you can’t escape me entirely.
